Over the last month, Shimane University students have had many opportunities to learn about study abroad programs and participate in interactive events with both international students studying on this semester and students visiting from the United States.
On July 4th, for example, 57 participants talked about American Independence Day, sampled typical American 4th of July barbecue food, enjoyed various snacks, and had exciting discussions. After the event, many students continued their 4th of July celebrations off campus with fireworks, pizza, games, and more!
On July 8th, the 48 participants enjoyed playing Jeopardy, a popular American TV game show that has also become a popular party game. In the group photo, you can see many people making a C with their hands, standing for California. The members of the top two teams each received small American prizes, including pins from Disney World. Everyone enjoyed their time together so much that when the event was over, many continued to hang out on and off campus.
